To Live is to Create, and to Create is to Feel Alive

This is the best explanation for my eclectic mix of mediums, styles, and creative pursuits - I feel most alive when I am creating something new and exploring that project to its fullest!

It began with drawing, music, and sewing as a child and grew into painting, body art, costuming, jewelry design, modeling, and performing. I have created art for as long as I can remember, and it has always brought me joy and fulfilled me to the utmost - the rush of the idea, the excitement of the design coming together, followed by the pride and accomplishment of seeing the finished piece.

I have been working on living canvases for over a decade now, beginning with face painting in 2011. I was invited to FABAIC: Face & Body Art International Convention in 2012 which was an amazing experience, and I go every year that it is held. In 2013 I started my art business, Mehndi by Melanie, specializing in body art such as henna designs and face & body paint.
