I started sewing at a young age, along with practicing embroidery and crochet. As I got older, I realized that I could take my ideas about fashion design and costume and character creation, and use them to bring to life characters from movies, games, and books or comics. This thriving medium is called cosplay - costume + play.
To create for cosplay there are no patterns and everything is translated from visuals, so a great deal of engineering comes into play. All sorts of materials can be used, from regular fabric to leather, from Worbla to metal, from sculpting clay to wirework.
